Mobile Search Upcoming Changes Coming Soon – Google 

Lately, Google has announced five new changes to mobile search, let’s discuss them in detail here.

At Google’s Search On conference, it was announced that Google is rolling out five noteworthy modifications to mobile search. Significantly, how Google shows results on mobile is about to transform i.e. making it more visual with a focus on images and video.

Google Search Shortcuts

Needless to say, there are a plethora of methods of searching a query on Google, which you can find by text typing, uploading an image, text translations, Google lens, and more. 

Now, on the Google app for iOS, all the advanced ways of searching Google will be more prominent with clickable shortcuts.

Results In The Search Bar

The search giant aims at making discovering things in mobile search even faster by showing links to results in the search bar. On typing, Google will populate results even before submit the query

Enhanced Query Refinements

To ensure simpler methods of finding the most relevant results, Google will be displaying an array of query refinements. When you type a query into the mobile search bar, Google presents ideas to make your question more precise.

Google Web Stories

Google’s motive is to ensure the best user experience, and to do so it is making mobile search more visual with more in-depth integration of Google Web Stories

As per the announcement, Google said, “So we’re also making it easier to explore a subject by highlighting the most relevant and helpful information, including content from creators on the open web. For topics like cities, you may see visual stories and short videos from people who have visited, tips on how to explore the city, things to do, how to get there and other important aspects you might want to know about as you plan your travels.”

Furthermore, you can click on the story to open it in full-screen mode.

Integrating Text, Images & Video

Google is pivoting mobile search results pages into a constant feed of discovery. This means, you no longer need to toggle between the Web, Images, and Video tabs, as Google will show them all on the front page.

As per the announcement, “We’re also reimagining the way we display results to better reflect the ways people explore topics. You’ll see the most relevant content, from a variety of sources, no matter what format the information comes in — whether that’s text, images, or video.”

The above modifications to mobile search are planned to be rolled out in the next few upcoming months.
