AMP URLs in Google Search not compatible with iOS 15?

The new operating system for iPhones, iOS 15, was released on 20 September. After the iOS 15 update, the AMP URLs in Google search just stopped functioning. Google representative acknowledged the problem and suggested that the Tech Giant has been working on a fix.

A user on Twitter noticed the issue and inquired if anybody else saw that Google doesn’t serve AMP results while using iOS 15 iPhone safari.

A developer took to Twitter to talk about the issue after observing it. The user found that Google search results in Safari on iOS 15 no longer include AMP links, although they do on iOS 14.

The AMP URLs being incompatible with iOS 15 will affect the Google Search users who are using Google Search on iOS devices that have been updated to iOS 15.

However, if you are using iOS 15 and click on a website listing in the Google Search results, you will not be sent to an AMP URL, even if an AMP URL exists for that listing. Instead, you’ll be directed to the main site’s URL for that page, or a link to it.

Your traffic should not be affected because it is still directed to your main URL, however, traffic to your AMP URLs may decrease as a result of this issue with the iOS version. The issue has not yet been resolved, but it should be shortly.
