Review Snippets missing from search results; Google confirms bug
Over the last few days some major changes have been noticeable on the Google’s Search Results Pages.
Stars and fragments of review snippets that appear on the search result of a user has vanished. Google Search has ceased providing review snippets in the last few days.
A review snippet is a brief extract of a review or rating from a review website, typically an average of multiple reviewers’ aggregate rating ratings. When Google discovers proper review or rating markup, a rich snippet with stars and other summary information from the reviews or ratings may appear. The stars that appear next to some of the search results provided structured data to evaluate.
Lately, Google’s Danny Sullivan too acknowledged that there is an issue per, which Google will presumably resolve shortly. The word was that Google has ceased providing review snippets and the stars beneath the search result snippets, in the last several days. However, Google later in the day suggested that these review it appears to be a problem, but I have yet to receive a response. Google acknowledged the problem later today and is working on a remedy; further information may be found below.
Google verifies that it is working to resolve two search-related issues that affect what is displayed and presented in Google search results. The concerns are with how Google handles soft 404 documents and how review stars appear in search results. The two issues appear to be unconnected, but Google is working to resolve them both.
The stars aren’t showing up, as you can see, but Google is aware of the problem. The Tech Giant should be able to rectify the issues shortly. All of these flaws might have a direct influence on your Google Search traffic and ranking. When Google fixes the issues, chances are your site may see an increase in traffic from Google Search.
