Google Search Console’s updated product enhancement report now provides granular insights

Google’s product enhancement report, which is part of Google Search Console reporting, has been lately updated by the search engine. The product enhancement report now indicates errors that are now more granular, providing you with more actionable errors and notices on how to improve your errors with the product structured data on your pages.

Google announced the update on the data anomalies helps page, stating that “Search Console now provides more granularity in error reporting for Product structured data items beginning September 29, 2021.” “As a result, many issues involving incorrect formatting that were previously marked as invalid object are now marked more specifically with invalid type or format categories,” Google added.

In September, Google Search Console had introduced a new area called “Products” to the portion of the improvement of the toolset. This part shows you how your product markup performs in Google’s search results. Job listings, recipes, Q&A markup, AMP, mobile usability, and more improvement categories are now available.

The report was originally added to Google Search Console in February 2019. Over the years, Google has made changes to the reports, including this one. You may get the report here on Search Console if you have product structured data on your site and a validated Search Console property for that site.

It is worth noting that if you see an increase or decrease in mistakes on September 29, 2021, it’s probably due to a change in how Google displays more detailed problems in this report. Examine the updated errors and forward them to your developers for correction. Check back in a week or so to see whether the faults have been addressed or not.
