Google releases The Privacy Sandbox timeline

Google released a timeline on Friday that depicted the various phases of development for several kinds of Privacy Sandbox activities. The plans for the Privacy Sandbox are at various stages of development. This timetable represents when we anticipate new technologies being available to support important use cases, allowing Chrome to phase away third-party cookies responsibly. Information is subject to change and will be updated on a monthly basis. The most recent update was in July 2021.

The Privacy Sandbox timetable gives search marketers an indication of when different Privacy Sandbox projects will be ready for implementation. This may provide advertisers with some insight into whether the firm will fulfil its new timetable to phase out third-party cookies (late 2023).
