New rich result status reports: Google Search Console announces adding ‘more actionable errors’

Google has announced the addition of more information to the rich results status report issues in its search console. The update of new features aims to assist you in figuring out how to deal with some specific issues. According to Google, this additional information includes five new mistakes as well as improved details across a wide range of error types making them “more actionable.”

Rich results are Google experiences that go beyond the usual blue link on Google surfaces like Search. Carousels, pictures, and other non-textual items can be included in rich results. In the menu carousel, under Enhancements, you’ll see rich result reports for your site. For each rich result type, there is a distinct report.

Google took to Twitter and announced:

Google’s Daniel Waisberg highlighted the new detailed mistakes in a tweet:

Google’s Ryan Levering also suggested that it is important to note that these aren’t new mistakes. Rather, this is improved information on a number of existing cross-type problems. These are items that may have been revealed in SDTT but have yet to appear in reports. These are fairly common mistakes, and they should now be easier to correct.

It is worth noting that the introduction of ‘more additional errors’ to rich results status reports indicates that there is a dire need for all web owners to update a website’s structured data. As properly structured data is qualified to be served as a rich result in Google’s search results.

Google has provided also provided a visual guide on how to monitor rich results in Google Search Console. Here it is:
